The Gettysburg Daily decided to check on the progress of the Reynolds Avenue Bridge, or the Railroad Cut Bridge this Good Friday afternoon. Although the work was not continuing on the bridge today, progress has been made– at least in destroying the current bridge.
The barriers to the Reynolds Avenue Bridge direct traffic west along the Chambersburg Pike for approximately three-fourths of a mile to Herrs Ridge Road. Traffic is to take a right (going north) along Herrs Ridge until it reaches the stop sign at the Mummasburg Road. A right on the Mummasburg Road (going southeast) will take visitors to the Eternal Light Peace Memorial, Oak Hill, and Oak Ridge.
