Evergreen Cemetery Part 14 With Licensed Battlefield Guide Deb Novotny

Gettysburg Licensed Battlefield Guide Deb Novotny is the host for our series on Evergreen Cemetery. She is standing by the James Foster House on the northwest corner of High Street (parallel with the side of the house on which Deb is standing) and Washington Street (parallel with the porch on the front of the Foster House). Gettysburg Licensed Battlefield Guide Deb Novotny is a retired American History Teacher from Gettysburg High School. She has been a Licensed Battlefield Guide since 1975 and serves on the board of the Evergreen Cemetery Association. She is our host for our series on Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg’s civilian cemetery.

In today’s post, Gettysburg Licensed Battlefield Guide Deb Novotny describes how the James Foster House was struck three times by artillery shells during the Battle of Gettysburg and how Catherine Mary White Foster survived the Battle of Gettysburg and the Johnstown Flood.
