The 2011 Gettysburg Reenactment

We stopped by on the morning of July 2nd for one of the three days of the Gettysburg Re-enactment event. The event takes place on private property and is put on by the Gettysburg Anniversary Committee. We stayed for the brief cavalry demonstration, noted as the “Emmitsburg Road Cavalry Skirmish,” and will show you the pictures we took as we walked around the event.

Many people arrived as early as we did and made their way from the parking area, past the line of portable toilets, towards the vendors, tents, and the grandstand area. This view was taken between approximately 7:30 AM and 12:30 PM on Saturday, July 2, 2011.

Looking through most of our actual photos of this “combat” we were having a hard time finding pictures where the reenactors here weren’t smiling or laughing as they engaged the enemy.
