Stratton Street Bridge Update

Progress on the North Stratton Street Bridge appears to be slow. The bridge has been closed since June 2, 2008. It is supposed to be finished by July 31, 2008. Stratton Street is closed from Water Street to the Fire Department complex. This view was taken from the north facing south at approximately 9:15 AM on Sunday, July 20, 2008.

Replacement of the North Stratton Street Bridge in the Borough of Gettysburg began on June 2nd. The Gettysburg Daily wanted a progress report on the bridge, which is to be finished by July 31st. There has been some progress made, but it appears that much more work is needed. See our previous post on June 17, 2008.

Much of the bottom of Stevens Run has been cemented. Cement structural walls and/or retaining walls are in place on the north and south sides of Stevens Run. This view was taken from the northeast facing southwest at approximately 9:15 AM on Sunday, July 20, 2008.

There is still a lot of area to be filled in between the retaining walls and the road, shown on the left side of this picture. This view was taken from the northwest facing southeast at approximately 9:15 AM on Sunday, July 20, 2008.
