Progress has been made on the North Stratton Street Bridge in Gettysburg. The completion date could be Thursday, August 21st. Today much of the cement was laid. See our previous posts on June 17, 2008 and July 20, 2008.
The North Stratton Street Bridge project was originally scheduled for completion on July 31, 2008. According to Dan Hilliard of the Gettysburg Borough, problems with utilities pushed the project back three weeks. The utilities have still not been finished. Many of the man hours are not coming out of the Borough budget because of the “Agility” program. This program allows workers with special skills from Penn Dot and Cumberland Township to work on this Gettysburg project while being paid by Cumberland Township and Penn Dot.
