Lincoln Statue Plaza Landscaping Completed for Dedication



Gettysburg’s newest Lincoln statue will be dedicated today, November 19, 2009, the 146th anniversary of Lincoln’s Gettysburg’s Address. The statue is located underneath the white tent.

Landscape work is complete on the Lincoln Statue Plaza at the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center. The dedication day is today, November 19, 2009, the 146th anniversary of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.

The new grass certainly makes the area look different (read much much better) than the long scraggly vegetation shown in the background. Previously in this area was not only the long scraggly vegetation and signs informing us that by not cutting the grass, they were saving the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
