Schmucker Hall, or “Old Dorm,” as it was known to the Lutheran Theological Seminary students at the time of the battle, was finished in the summer of 1832. On the right, the Church of the Abiding Presence (Seminary chapel) was dedicated in 1942. The cornerstone for Valentine Hall, on the left, was laid in 1894.
