Warren Avenue Update

We parked on Wright Avenue near the monument to the 20th Maine Infantry Regiment. Visitors took advantage of the good weather and were out in force on the southern end of the field. This view was taken facing northeast at approximately 3:40 PM on Wednesday, March 28, 2012.

When the roadside was washed away by flooding, it was clear that improvements needed to be made. TheseĀ netted erosion control blankets / open weave textile products were installed along the road and have grass growing through them. On any busy day on the battlefield one can always look up at Little Round Top with the guarantee that a few visitors will have climbed the steps in the 44th New York Infantry monument.
