20th Maine Restroom Removed to the North Side of Little Round Top



The view from the monument to the 20th Maine Infantry Regiment will no longer be obstructed by Port O Potties at the foot of the slope. This view was taken facing southwest at approximately 8:00 AM on Sunday, April 17, 2011.

The Joshua Chamberlain Memorial Restrooms have been moved from the south side of Little Round Top to the north side. We are pleased that this move has finally been made to no longer continually pollute one of the most famous/infamous places at Gettysburg.



Wright Avenue runs from left to right in this view. On this (north) side of Wright Avenue are three parking spaces. On the other (south) side of Wright Avenue, in the enter of this view is where the restrooms were located last year. Those restrooms have now been moved to the north side of Little Round Top. This view was taken facing southwest at approximately 8:00 AM on Sunday, April 17, 2011.

The combination of heavy rain and the new road improvements have probably helped to trap the water here for awhile. Sykes Avenue is going up Little Round Top. This view was taken facing northwest at approximately 8:00 AM on Sunday, April 17, 2011.

…you will come to the intersection of Sykes Avenue and the Wheatfield Road (running right to left) and Sedgewick Avenue, which is continuing north (away from the camera). This view was taken facing northeast at approximately 8:00 AM on Sunday, April 17, 2011.
